About Me

Lena teaching piano

I have been playing piano for as long as I can remember and have always had a love for music! I took piano lessons for years and then completed a classical piano training class before high school.

In college, I studied music education and composition at BYU-Hawaii. I realized that I love working with kids and teaching, so I transferred to BYU-Provo to study elementary education. I graduated with my bachelors of science in 2024.

Since then, I've taught preschool music and in Kindergarten - 3rd grade classrooms all while teaching piano privately in between. Through all my experience, I've realized teaching piano is my passion and I have taken it on full-time!

Who are these lessons for?

I offer piano lessons for students in Kindergarten up to 12th grade. These lessons can be anywhere from starting at the very beginning or into intermediate and beyond! I'm also happy to pick up wherever they might've left off in previous lessons.

If your child is at an age where they are developing reading skills and can easily sit and focus for an extended period of time, they are most likely ready to learn piano!

What do I offer in my lessons?

Piano lessons are scheduled into 30 minute blocks, once a week, per student. The time slot you schedule for will be the same time every week.

I have taught with many different piano curriculums. When signing up, you can choose a piano curriculum for your child based on preference of from my recommendations I will have listed below!

The first lesson can help me see where your child needs to start if you are unsure.

Where are lessons held?

I have two options for piano lesson locations:

Mapleton Location: Wednesdays/Thursdays only. You are encouraged to drop your child off for the duration of the lesson to keep in distraction-free.

In-Home Lessons: Preferably if you are located in Saratoga Springs, Lehi, or Eagle Mountain. You must have a piano or keyboard and a designated spot for the lesson that is free from noise and distraction. These in-home lessons are priced slightly higher for travel costs.

Payment is collected every month on the day of your first lesson of the month. Each payment contains ~4 weekly payments (or however many weeks are within the current month). I will not teach any lessons without first receiving payment.

You are required to buy/provide the books necessary for your child's lessons AFTER their first lesson (first lesson is to determine where to place them).

If a lesson falls on a public holiday, you will have the option to schedule a makeup lesson or skip that week. (Monthly payment will be adjusted to the weeks you will be attending lessons).

I will do my best to follow local school schedules, including taking off for fall, winter, and spring breaks and any other breaks. Specific time off dates will be emailed/communicated to all families.

Any upcoming time off or vacations will need to be made aware to me by the first of the month they occur in (before monthly payment is charged). You will have the option to skip the lesson(s) (monthly payment is adjusted) or schedule a makeup lesson day (monthly payment stays the same).

Any emergencies that may keep your child from attending lessons needs to be notified to me 24 hours before their lesson time. You will have the option to reschedule ONLY if I have available makeup days. If there are none available or notice is less than 24 hours, no less refund is provided.
